Landscape Photography Workshop Namibia 2028

Discover Namibia’s Hidden Gems Through the Lens

There are few places on Earth that offer such an extraordinary array of contrasts, colours and landscapes as Namibia.

From the vast salt pans and arid landscapes of the east, to the immense Etosha Pan stretching across the horizon; from the iconic dead camelthorn trees of Dead Vlei at Sossusvlei to the ancient quiver trees standing beneath a crystal-clear Milky Way — Namibia is a landscape photographer’s dream.

Namibia is a paradise for landscape photography.

The Namib Desert, one of the oldest deserts on Earth, stretches along much of Namibia’s western interior. Its stark, dramatic beauty is almost impossible to describe until you have experienced it for yourself.

There are places such as the Kuiseb River Canyon, where towering desert landscapes and enormous red dunes meet in a remarkable display of contrasting colours and textures. These are the kinds of places I have spent years searching for and photographing — locations where the landscape feels almost otherworldly.

And yet, after many journeys through Namibia, I still feel that I have only scratched the surface.

Beyond the Iconic Locations

The iconic locations of Namibia are iconic for a reason. Photographing places such as Sossusvlei, Dead Vlei and the landscapes surrounding Etosha is an incredible experience, particularly when the light is right.

But Namibia has so much more to offer.

For me, the real excitement comes from travelling beyond the well-known locations and searching for those lesser-known landscapes, viewpoints and photographic opportunities that are often missed by visitors.

Namibia is a country of hidden gems.

Just as Namibia is famous for its diamonds, I believe there are countless photographic gems waiting to be discovered throughout this extraordinary country.

And discovering them often requires time, patience and a willingness to travel beyond the obvious.

Chasing the Light

Namibia is vast.

Reaching some of the more remote and isolated locations can mean spending many hours behind the wheel, travelling through landscapes that constantly change as you move across the country.

But that journey is part of the experience.

For a landscape photographer, Namibia offers an incredible variety of light, colour, texture and atmosphere.

There is something magical about the soft early-morning light illuminating the red dunes and golden grasses of the Kalahari.

Then there are the spectacular sunsets along the coast, where the sky can transform into brilliant shades of red, orange and pink as flamingos gather across the salt pans near Walvis Bay.

And when night falls, Namibia offers some of the darkest skies on Earth — providing extraordinary opportunities for astrophotography and capturing the Milky Way above ancient landscapes.

Join Me in Namibia – May/June 2028

If you have a passion for landscape photography, enjoy photographing wildlife, and have always dreamed of experiencing Namibia, I would love you to join me.

I am putting together a small, exclusive group of just eight photographers for an 11-day photographic workshop safari through Namibia in May/June 2028.

This workshop is being designed for photographers who want more than simply visiting Namibia’s famous tourist destinations.

Together, we will explore Namibia’s remarkable landscapes, search for unique photographic opportunities, chase the best light and discover some of the country’s lesser-known photographic gems.

With a small group, there will be more opportunity for personalised guidance, discussion and time in the field — while enjoying the incredible experience of travelling through one of Africa’s most spectacular countries.

This is a journey for photographers who want to experience Namibia, photograph Namibia and discover the Namibia beyond the obvious.

If this sounds like the photographic adventure you have been waiting for, I invite you to register your interest and download the free Namibia 2028 Photographic Workshop brochure.

I look forward to meeting you, sharing my passion for photography and exploring the hidden gems of Namibia together.
